Should our government condem the Iran government? 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago

The American news has been flooded with scenes of oppression and outrage from the streets of Tehran in Iran. The media spins it in a strictly one sided bias fashion where the evil Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has rigged the elections and stolen democracy from the voters.
OK,, so this is probably true. The thing is that there is no evidence to support this yet. In the meantime the media and congress are breaking their backs grandstanding for the american public and the world. They are "disgusted" by the "sham" elections and have begun a barrage of finger pointing at Barack Obama - "how can he just sit there and not formally condemn the Iranian government for this travesty?".
Here's the flip side that the "West" never hears on the news and is certainly never mentioned by politicians for fear that they might be branded as unAmerican or even worse,, socialists.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has a base of voters mostly from The conservatives, the poor and the old. These are the people who voted for him. The opposition is mostly made of of the young, the reformers, the liberals.
So what's the point? The point is that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's base voters are NOT on the web, they not tech savvy, they not vocal outside of their religion or region. The only voice we hear, the only opinion we know, the only videos we see are from the Mir Hossien Mousavi's base. The urban residence, the young, the activists who are keenly aware and able to get their voice and opinion out to the world via technology.
So while it may be that all is as we see it. It could also be the case that we are simply being swayed by a savvy bunch of people who don't want to accept the fact they lost. This is not a schoolyard arguement... should our government make world changing action based on what is only hearsay or wait until proofs appears?
What do you think?

I guess this is a new take on the issue. You present a very good point: "We only hear one side of the problem". Until we find a way to hear the other side, we cannot say who really did wrong.
